What Types of Headaches Do We Treat?
What Types of Headaches Do We Treat at Rosh Ragua?
At Rosh Ragua, we treat all types of headaches of all types including:
-
Migraine headache
-
Tension-type headache
-
Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalgia (e.g., Cluster headache)
Disclaimer
There are two general types of headaches: Primary headaches and secondary headaches. The vast majority of people with headaches have primary headaches, which include the types of headaches listed above, such as migraine. Secondary headaches are headaches that are caused by a specific medical or surgical condition, which could be very serious, such as meningitis, encephalitis, bleeding in and around the brain, stroke, brain tumor, etc.
Dr. Grant is an anesthesiologist. He does not have formal training in neurology. We therefore strongly recommend that you have your headache evaluated by a neurologist who can assess the cause of your headache and order any tests that may be indicated to determine if your headache is caused by an underlying condition that needs to be addressed.
OUR “IDEAL” PATIENT has been evaluated for their headaches by a neurologist, has already had of all the tests performed that the neurologist thought were necessary to establish the diagnosis, and the neurologist has ruled out (excluded) other causes for the headaches that could be due to a medical or surgical condition.
If you have already seen one or more doctors to treat your headache and are not happy with the result, no problem: we will be happy to see if we can help you.
Other Types of Pain that We Treat
In addition to headaches, we also treat some other kinds of pain, for example, shoulder pain that may occur after laparoscopic abdominal surgery or after chest surgery. We encourage you to discuss these other types of pain with Dr. Grant to see if we can be of help to you.
