
About Us
Dr. Gilbert Grant is an anesthesiologist with a 40-year career at New York University Medical Center, including 31 years as the Director of the Division of Obstetric Anesthesia. Dr. Grant specialized in providing pain relief during labor and delivery and after delivery for many thousands of women. He also was responsible for training hundreds of residents. Dr. Grant was committed to education in anesthesiology, helping to prepare his trainees to become excellent anesthesiologists. Dr. Grant served as an oral examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology for more than 20 years.
Throughout his career, Dr. Grant has been dedicated to the treatment of pain, and for researching new and better ways to treat pain. In fact he pioneered new pain treatment techniques. For example, Dr. Grant was the first scientist to use an ultra-long lasting local anesthetic to treat acute pain after surgery (1997, Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandanavica). Dr. Grant was the first to report the use of a sphenopalatine ganglion block to relieve headache in a pregnant patient who had failed other systemic treatment (2014, International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia). He was also the first doctor to use the sphenopalatine ganglion block to treat severe shoulder pain after surgery (2018, A&A Practice).
Dr. Grant made aliyah in October 2023, and currently is practicing medicine in the Tel Aviv area. He is looking forward to relieving the pain of Israeli patients.

Alexandra Grant graduated from Reichman University (IDC) in 2014 with a degree in Business Administration. After working in hi-tech for two years, Alexandra chose to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, graduating from Tel Aviv University Nursing School in 2020. She has worked at Ichilov Hospital for three years as a nurse in Internal Medicine and in the Covid ICU and then at a Maccabi outpatient clinic for two years focusing on chronic illness management and patient support, including home visits. Alexandra brings her diverse experience and strong commitment to patient-centered care to Rosh Ragua, helping patients suffering from migraines and other headaches to achieve long-term relief using our safe and reliable techniques.
